Reinforced concrete structures
The department performs analytical and experimental studies on reinforced concrete structures, developing innovative research on:
- Precast Structures
- Retrofit of existing RC buildings
- Design of RC buildings
- Assessment of existing RC structures
- Codes
Theoretical modeling of elements and structures behavior is supported by experimental tests on elements, sub-assemblages or structures in reduced or real scale for a better understanding of the behavior in the monotonic and cyclic field and in order to design and verify possible strengthening interventions.
The research is performed in synergy with other national and international universities and research centers in the framework of research projects that are specific for the research field (Reluis 2014-2018) and that allow the application of the research results for the sustainability and protection of the built environment (Metrics, Metropolis).
