IF CRASC '25
The Conference is organized by the Italian Association of Forensic Engineering (AIF) and the Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II.
The establishment, at the University of Naples Federico II, of the first Second level Master's Degree in Italy and Europe, specifically dedicated to Civil and Industrial Forensic Engineering is at the origin of the IF CRASC Conferences. Alongside the traditional sector of Structural Forensic Engineering (typically focused on the topic of collapses), in recent years the attention of the scientific, professional and civil community has grown significantly not only on the legal aspects (procedures and responsibilities) related to the activity carried out by engineers, but also on the complex of activities developed in the sectors of Industrial Engineering and Information. This has led to extending the themes of the Conferences dedicated to Collapses, Structural Reliability and Consolidation, to the multiple sectors of Forensic Engineering.
The remarkable success achieved by previous Conferences and initiatives on the same topic undertaken in Italy and abroad from 2009 to date, has allowed the Italian Association of Forensic Engineering (AIF) to organize the IF CRASC '25 Conference together with the Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II. The Conference is also co-organized with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Naples, which will provide the acknowledgment of CFPs for each day attending the Congress.

AIMS
The general purpose of the 2025 edition of this Conference is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences gained by academics, freelancers, public administration officials, private company operators, jurists and magistrates, in their respective areas of expertise of Forensic Engineering in the civil, industrial and information sectors. Topics of specific interest for this edition, in relation to their great current relevance, are in particular:
- Professional responsibilities and insurance aspects.
- Technical-legal issues in judicial proceedings.
- Regulatory updates in the field of design, construction, management and decommissioning of engineering works connected to new scientific knowledge.
- Regulatory updates on judicial technical advice.
- Management of contracts and workplace safety.
- Case studies of defects, faults, landslides and collapses.
- Monitoring and residual life of existing structures.
- Extreme events and effects of climate change.
- Reliability and risk of structures.
- Structural robustness and resilience to disasters.
- Risk mitigation and sustainability of consolidation interventions.
- Digitalization and artificial intelligence for the diagnostics and evaluation of existing buildings.
The Conference will include general reports, invited reports and presentations of papers in regular or special sessions, as well as specific round tables.
